set the engine in it last wknd and started fabing the motor mounts. no pics of the mounts yet. this wknd hope to get the mounts for the engine and tranny done. also put a cross member under the engine between the mounts.

sweet project..those motors are a serious chunk of iron aren't they? I put a `91 12 valve and 5 speed and 3.54 rear in a 56 GMC 1-ton years ago, then sold it..shoulda kept it

Can't beat the old 12v. Heavy....just have to beef it up a little more.

Go easy on that 12 bolt, most Cummins equiped trucks come with Dana 60s or larger, I believe.

Looking forward to more, I love me some oil burners!

I realize it is smaller but I think it will be fine. Got to remember that the original application was for pull +20k loads. Don't think it will ever seen more than the weight of the vehicle (2000-2500 lbs)

got a little done this wknd. motor mounts are done for now. will have to weld up the inside of the frame and put a cross member in once i pull the engine back out.
