That Buick is a parts car for my dads 57 Roadmaster 75. The bodies are completely different but the $1600.00 ball joints are the same as well as the 364 nail head motor and the dynaflo trans.
I do feel your pain though . Those rear quarters are nice.
Probably too nice for a rat rod!
The motor I'm using out of my old motor home is 440 dodge.
Been pulling measurements and dreaming for three days now. Today we start disassembly of Everything!
If my energy level gets anywhere near my ambition level I should be driving Rodenstein by the weekend! (another dream!) Doesn't hurt nothing I figure..........
Rod on!

So despite a bout with the flu I put the donor truck up on the lift and yarned the body off it this afternoon. Thank god my bathroom is only a few feet from the garage!
At any rate, the S-10 cab is MINT!
Now I'm thinking about putting the floor out of it in Rodenstein.
I'll post a few pics as soon as I can.

On another note my boy bought a 1948 Ford 2 door project this afternoon so It looks like the garage is going to be a busy place for a while.

Think I'm going to take the plasma cutter to the floor of the donor truck and put it into the 41. I can't believe how nice the cab is on this wreck!
This way the body mounts will all line up and I can run the split bench in it's original location! Sweet!
So far including all the donor cars and parts there of I have a total of $250.00 invested!
I'm sure the price is going to go crazy when I put brake lines on it! lol!

Gaining on it!
I go in the am and pick up 2 cars we bought in the woods last summer. A 1936 2 dr chevy and a 40 chevy. Both parts cars and both will be donating to Rodenstein!

That's a great idea. More pictures please :p

I buy Playboy for the articles, I come here for the pictures.

My dad stumbled onto these two cars while deer hunting three years ago, found out who owned them and bought the pair for $50.00, A real rusty 36 chevy 4 dr and an even rustier 40 chevy 2 door.
We armed ourselfs with the chainsaw,my tractor and a pile of chain and off we went this morning to retrieve them!
They are here now but not in any where near the shape they look in the pictures. Pain in the butt but worth every moment it took us. Now we have more options for Rodensteins future look!

What the pictures don't show is just how wet the ground is! Everywhere you stepped once, your tracks instantly filled up with water! We had to carry a lot of stuff out by hand but we left nothing!

It is surprising that the door skins and window frames are in as good a shape as they are after so many years of laying on the ground beside the car.
I'll bet someone chopping the top on a 36 chevy 4 door would like to have these kicking around!

grille

if you were closer l'd talk ya outta the 36's grille shell, with the headlight buckets attached to it, it would work perfect for a future model A project l and some friend are throwing together.[dr

Later

Sorry , that 36 nose is going on Rodenstein!
I gotta do something to cover up those ugly s10 control arms!

So I determined the front of the s10 frame was way to wide for the 41 cab to fit down over it so I cut the left and right mid sections off and reversed them.
That made a huge difference.
The picture is dark but you get the idea.

Now a little plating, welding and grinding and she's good as new!
Of course I have yet to cut the body mounts off but I'm liking it.
