I know most are doing the air ride thing, but I'm building an old school ( pre air bag ) rod... I've bumped up my frame 6 inches or so, so I can run the front roll pan at 4-5" off the ground, & still have 6-7" of wheel travel... I'm running a shorter mono spring up front, & have my traditional spring perch on the front of my springs, springs mounted under the I beam axle, & I'm building a bearing spring slider for better control, & a lower rear spring mount...

just curious if anyone else has incorporated one into their build ???

for those who aren't sure what a slider is, here's a link to a prefab unit... mine will be similar, but much more cleaned up & a bit heavier, since I plan to spank the rod once in a while...

So... are these that far out of the box ???

I'd think with lowering all the craze, if you could lower an inch just by swapping out the shackle, more might do it ???

I know... bags are all the rage, leaf springs are old school... but I guess I'm trying to keep everything as simple as possible
