Should be a great truck. wouldn't be nice if you came out ahead on the money end of things? Have a truck and the $ left over from selling off extra parts? looks like if anybody ever had a shot at that, you do.

I have a few bits and pioeces around for those trucks, let me know if you need anything. I think I still have a good 46 passenger door, all the insides for the drivers door, and a 48 I am parting out.

Tex, the first drawing is the one I was suggesting in your other thread. It has a chance of working if the spring being used as a radius rod is quite stiff. I have seen a dual quarter eliptic rear set up with both springs curved in the same direction whereas your drawing has them splaying in opposite directions and the pivot ends of the springs on the axle, not the frame. More like conventional quarter eliptics. I've only seen pics so I don't know if it worked well. Good luck with your project.

Here's one I built a few years ago. Picture the lower bar replaced by another spring. The spring does not have a shackle. I really like unusual suspensions so I hope you persue one of your designs. If it doesn't work, you can cut it off and do something else. It's only metal...

hey ,, i really like the set up you have done there,, howdid it ride? i also have thought of useing house trailer springs for the trailing arms for the rear,, or car trailer springs,, i build car trailers for a living,, and they are really thick springs,, i did some reseach on quarter springs and buggy spring setups on rock crawler,, man that stuff is scary looking, but the reviews said they even drove well on the street anyways still thinking,, these pics i saw on here inspired the madness .. lol

its alive!!!!!

:eek: well got me a hot battery and new points and condenser and a little gas and , bla bla wam bam tuktas tuktas , it runs!!!! and if yall was wondering why its not in a shop ? cause i aint got one, i have build this truck in my yard, and on my trailer,, i been thinking,, the other forum say the 3000.00 or less club,, really thats imposissble,, if ya got a show,, and a bunch of tools, , but i think i have found a way,, good freinds donating parts , and letting me use there tools, i have a 4 inch grinder, a 110 70 arc welder, one hand drill,, a wood chop saw i converted to cut metal, and my 9 drawer snap on tool box full of hand tools,, in the back of my truck ,, just back up to the trailer. wup out thge tools go to work,, do as much as i can witjh what i got, ,, then hook to the trailer, go to my buddys shop,, (to do all the heavy duty welding!) , then back home and start again,, i have been offered to use shop shop space but i like it this way, i work when i want to, and move when i want to.. this truck has only set in a shop,,for 4 hours while i did the frame and suspension work ,, a.k.a. ,, use the big welder,, built it in my head and went to work and on my breaks made the heavey duty stuff,, welding the body together with the 110 stick welder. oh yea i have a craftman 20 gallon comopressor, i keep in the truck with a heavy duty 25' extension cord. ,, crazzzzzzzzzzzzy lol:D
