I am thinking of a new project.
Something inexpensive to buy and comfortable to drive.
Prefer 2 door but 4 door or wagon would be ok.
I would like it to be mid 1970`s or older.
I was thinking maybe a Ford LTD,Cadillac,Big Buick,Olds,Pontiac or Chevy.
Any ideas?
What are the names of these big old cars?[S
I need to know what to start looking for.
I have been building model T`s so long I have forgot everything else.
thanks

Rod out a vintage wagon..

I love wagons, and started a trend in Bossier City back in 1980/81. I hot rodded a Malibu Wagon that I bought from a friend's wife. It was her grocery getter, and chillen hauler until I got my hands on it. I got a 350 out of a Vette and swapped it in to replace the stock 350 that was in it. Not sure of the HP, never really checked, but this damn thing would scream then. It still looked like a Mom's car, which I loved it as a "sleeper", but had to put some meats on it, because it would just sit there and spin the rubber off the wheels with stock Mom tires on it. It was dubbed "Dragin Wagon" by friends, and was a pretty popular wagon in the area. About a year after I did this wagon, you started seeing other hot rod wagons showing up in the Bossier City area. This was my 1973 Malibu "Dragin Wagon".

I also painted it green, blacked out the rear windows, and put in a Posi 3:73 rear.

Dude that wagon is kool as hell. I did a 78 Caprice Classic 4 door in flat black rattle can, blacked out headlights, & a fake hood scoop. I was a kid & really had no money (some things never change) so it was kool at the time. Drove the wheels off of it. Buddies all busted me about having a 4 door but when it was time to go to the swap meets I could load the whole crew up & still had the massive trunk to put all our booty in. It had 275k on it when I traded it for a 31 nash 4 door. Four doors ROCK!:D
