l have been doing the build thread here of my car and people here seem to know a lot.

SO, this guys calls me and wants to trade my 1969 swb chevy truck for a 1940 sedan.

my truck has new paint and interior, 396 big block chevy, turbo 400 and was finished 3 years ago.

the 40 was rebuilt 10 years ago, recent updates are a 400hp small block chevy and a fatman IFS mustang II with discs and a nine inch ford rear-end.

Later:confused:

I don't know, I would keep the truck. I never liked the look of those Fords. They remind me of Dung beetles, the ones that roll poop balls for miles.

I"m a truck guy too & u're PU looks really, really nice but I have a soft spot for 40's!!!

Yup, I think I wouldve already traded, and then asked if i did the right thing. :D

If you think that 40 is in as good of shape as your truck, and as dependable then there shouldnt be any question. :D

Both are nice but I would have gotten the 40 in a heartbeat after making sure it is well done and sound. I would then ditch those wheels and tires for some that are more fitting to the style of the car.

Gotta love them 40's. :D:D

thanks

cool, l thank everyone for the input[cl

well, looks like tomorrow/monday the 5th, l meet him in seattle and look in person at the 40. were supposed to trade even up, no cash either way. good way to do it in this rotten economy.

if its as nice as the pics, ohh yaaaa, were traden'.:D

he lives 200 miles from me and were meeing in the middle, for me 100 miles and him about the same. hopefully, it looks like l will have a "new" toy!!!!

me, l'm a 5 spoke guy, gonna find a set of classic 5 spoke cragers or maybe some aluminum slots from the 60's and polish them up, turn the tires around so the black wall is out. that should look better than those welds.

l'll stick the welds on my 66 chevelle:eek:

the buddy l hang with does his own painting and said "hey, lets flame it".
sounds good to me.

l'll throw a new post on here when (IF??) l get it home.......

later:cool:

both rides look very nice in the pics....[dr

You read my mind.

I love the '67 through '72 Chevy trucks and have owned several. But nothing says bad ass like a '40 Ford.
