Chevy truck cab year

I know that 47-54 are the same , as are 41-46 . 39 and 40 have a different grill but the cab looks the same. My question is, are the 39 and 40 cabs the same as 41-46 . I have found a cab without any docs or vin plates , man says it is a 39,any body know if the dash boards of a 39 or 40 look the same as a 41-46. I can find pics on the net but none of dash boards . Thanks

the 40 - 46 are the same exact cab, the only difference i see between the 40 and earlier years are right in front of the cowl vent where the 2 hoods hing the 40-46 have a indent and my 39 cab doesnt, my 39 cab has roung gauges in the dash also where the 40 and 45 cabs i have are rec. like the glove box. pics below show the indent in front of the cowl on 40-46 and the dash of a 40 chev. hope this helped somewhat, dp1

DASH...39...( I was told it was a 39, but it could be a 40 if gauges were only round then.

Here are some of my other cabs, although there are some small differences in them; One has more wood inside than the other one. 1936,1937,1938 had a single front glass as near as I can tell.
