I started this project about a two weeks ago.I plan on putting the 89 Cummins in it with 6 inch sidepipes. The truck is a 1950 Chevrolet chopped 4 inches. This one will be similar to my other builds because I have all my pieces to my build around the shop. Here's pictures of my progress up till now.

You can bet ill be watchin this one! Im a sucker for a cummins. One day ill build my own cummins rod, but for now, ill stick with my cummins daily driver.

Edit: HA! I could have sworn i replied to your thread, but my post wasn't showing up. Turns out it was the same post on the other forum. Guess ill be watching both :)

Way to go!!

I'll be watching your build for sure. Maybe it'll light a torch for me to get going again on my 90 Cummins in a 67 K20 Chevy.

Ya know my buddy has a dodge about the same as yours. I believe a 93 with a good 12 valver cummins in it that he wants me to buy. I been thinking of doing something similar with it only in a dually style. But it would be set up to be used as my tow rig.......

Well I started the cummins transplant today.I only like unbolting the engine and tranny.Monday I get all of it out of the old Dodge and into the frame of the Chevrolet.

Are you like a one tune drummer or do you just like doing chopped widened AD trucks? lol! just messin with you. I wanted to do my 50 2T with a duramax but havent found one cheap enough yet so it will get the 90 C1500 chassis and 5.3L already in it. [P

I did not realize the turbo went directly into the intake and the older Cummins didn't have an inner cooler :)

They did that for the first couple years on the 160hp models..might have even been a 3/4 ton only thing..I had a 90 D350 single tire 1-ton that did have the intercooler, it was 180 hp I think..

I know I have built several of the AD Chevy trucks but, I have alot of them behind the shop. They are quick to build and fun to drive.I've got a 1932 Chevrolet and a 1961 Chevy belair just waiting for me to start . I finished everything that needed to put the cab back on the frame. It looks like when I get the tires on it that I intend to run it will be just the right hieght from the floor.

Well if you have a bunch that have turbo diesels in em with manual trans that your looking to part with let me know :)

I would love to do something like this for a tow rig. My buddy has a cummins like yours he wants me to buy. If I do, this is what will happen to it.
