Guys

I have a Dana 70 HD I need to take drums off because I think the drums are rusted onto the drums (has been sitting for a long time). I have know idea how to get the drums off. Any help would be great.

If I remember correctly to remove the drums you first remove the axles by removing the bolts in the flange then remove the nut or nuts that hold the bearings in and that set the preload. some of these rear ends used a single nylock nut with a locking key driven into the keyway of the axle tube. the earlier style used a thin nut then a washer with a key tab and then another thin nut as a jam nut. now you can remove the drum and hub as an assembly. in order to remove the drum from the hub you drive the wheel studs out toward the inside of the drum. them you drive or press the hub from the drum. I hope this helps.someone may have more or a better description. good luck.
