Easy Way to Wire a metric bike?

I bought a 1983 Honda Shadow 500 last year. I had a few problems that I was able to fix myself, but then came the electrical problems. I started by finding a wiring diagram, but it was ridiculous and I would never find out my true problems because I'm certain I have several.

I got discouraged and let it sit up since November. I am thinking of tearing it down and wiring the most basic wiring possible. I would like to have a headlamp, taillight, one switch for power and another for ignition.

Please give any suggestions or websites to look at. If I need to give more info, just ask. Thank You for any help.

There are several guys on here that are building, or have built very simple bikes. I'm sure someone will be able to help you out.
