Can someone explain what the numbers stamped on my engine block indicate?
The guy who built my rod died last year and it would be a lot easier
to get parts if I knew exactly what I was driving.

It is a Chevy 250ci straight 6

Stamped on the right side:
CON2 F129 3921968/GM/62

Thanks for the help

Engine ID

Rat Trap -- From the block identification section of Leo Santucci Power Manual it show's the following:

1966-70 230" Chevy Pass Cars

1962-79 250" Chevy & GMC Trucks

I believe the F129 is date code June 12 1969 or 1979

Both the 230 & 250 have same std. bore of 3.875", but the 230 has a 3.250"
crank & 250 has a 3.530 crank.

Do you know for sure that it is a 250" motor?

The other problem with the 194/230/250 is the heads interchange and you may have 250 head on a 230 block or the other way around.
