I just saw Barberochris got a new (old) truck. Someone mentioned that it had an FE motor.

Whats the deal?
What is an FE motor?
Are they desireable?
All of them or just a select few?
When were they made?
Are they identified by the head and intake joining under the valve cover?

A buddy has one and doesnt know anything about it. He is trying to decide if he should hang onto it.

Thanks:D

an Fe was built from a 352 to a 428, they all use the same block, lots of speed parts available, the 427 was legendary...

Actually there was a 332 version early on. They started in 1958 as the 332/352. And ended up as a pickup only engine and were last put into 1976 model pickups. There was a dizzing nember of different displacements but most were derived from the different combinations of just a couple bores and maybe 3 cranks. They are plentiful and solid engines. Pretty easy to get serious grunt from. But they are Fords and do like gas.
