Fuel Gauge for '39 Ford?

I recently inherited a 39 Ford rat rod from my father. It is in pretty good shape, but I noticed there is no fuel gauge. There is a bare sending unit accessible from the trunk, but no wires are attached to it. I think it might be original. Does anyone know what fuel gauge will work with this sender and what the wiring should look like? Or should I go with a new sender/gauge?

I'd go with a new one then you'd know it was right and working.
