regarding an 87ish s-10 blazer
--
1.
when i turn the key forward i should be able to hear it come on right?

2.
can i test it by hooking its wires to a battery to determine if its bad - or
if its a relay?

3. (my last resort though)
can i just run it on a fused switch inside the cab that turns it on/off
if so - do fuel pumps run constantly or just to get the car started and
then it kinda takes it own suction or whatever.
thanks.

* i numbered for question answering convenience,
thanks in advance.

1. probably. Some I can't hear even when they are working.
2. yes.
3. they run constant - like a mechanical pump. You shouldn't need to wire it any different.

Is that a high pressure pump?

said it should be running I THINK at 45 psi maybe?
i dont know - i know it has to have pressure because
i saw it in the repair manual i was reading --
why what does that do different --
