with a MIG or TIG you're using an inert sheilding gas instead of a flux core wire..

no flux is required, and welds are much cleaner, less spatter and don't look like burnt bird poop
 
flux core wire burns way hotter and from experience, it is easier to warp the metal.

I'd definitely run gas, low amps and tack tack tack
 
Do you need to use a certain type of flux to gas weld sheet metal? Such as 14-16 gauge. Thanx in advance.
The only time you would need any type of a flux is if you were brazing - but when using O/A, just a good rod of the right dia.and the right size tip for the job.
