If I decide to graft a GM subframe to my 55 F100, what do I have to do about the frame stamped VIN? the truck doesn't have a plate in the glove box or door, and I can't register it until it passes the visual inspection from the an officer that comes out to snoop around it. What do I do in this case? Thanks for any help!

LOL, That really falls into the why didn't I think of that scenario! Kinda scared somebody might think I "pulled" a VIN from a junkyard truck:confused:

Check the frame real close. Some times they were stamped in more then one location. On mid 50's ford trucks I have found them on the PS frame at the firewall, Radiator frame support, Cross members,

What state are you in. Here we can get them titled before you start any work on them. Once there titled there is no issues getting plates for them later.

cutting the frame and welding the Vin into another frame could lead to issues later. You should check with your state DMV about that.

I'm in Georgia. I was told to have an officer come out to verify the VIN, and then I could hack...I meant start to install the gm clip.
