did they hide it?

its a 51 did they not give vintags back then???

Not really sure, but it may be on the firewall just to the right of center on the passenger side,maybe a small rivited tag covered up with paint.

What model: Aero, utility, or cj?
My 58 truck had the tag at the back of the seat riser on the drivers side.
My 56 wagon had a ID plate on the dash.

My 59 wagon had it at the bottom right just inside the driver's side. And most in the 50's and early 60's were held on with screws. Easy to remove and even easier to loose.

its located on the left frame rail on the outside near the front. An additional ID plate is located on the left of the drivers seat floor riser... the engine number was located at the top front of the engine block on the water pump boss.
