I just got my Henry J home and have started to work on it. Here are a few pics.

Excellent! What are your plans for it? Drive Line? Looking forward to seeing the progess.

-Troy

It won't really be a drag car so I'm planning on using a mild, vintage SBC (283 or 327) with a turbo 350 and an 8.8 Ford rear. Big rear tires with radiused wheelwells, and fenderwell headers are also in the plan. It's going to be a while before I get to that. A lot of tweaking to get the body square and mounted back on the frame.

I have replaced the crusty rockers with 2X3 14 ga tubing and put in a couple of crossmembers. I'll make some cosmetic rocker panels later.

A few pics of my 1st mock up. I need to borrow a friends port-a-power to move the door openings around and a bunch of other minor things before everything fits decent. I took some pics of some details this car has to see if anyone recognizes it. It came with some dash plaques from cental Illinous from the early 80's, but the straight axle was added later.

Wow, this looks really solid! Did you buy it as someone else's abandon project?

I don't think the guy I bought it from did anything to it. He said the guy he got it from is the one that cut the floors and firewall out with the idea of tubbing it for the pro street look. It has a lot of trailer miles on it without much support for the body so it has sagged a lot and needs some pushing and pulling to get it to look nice again.

I've been picking away at a few things on my Henry, but haven't gotton much done. Haven't taken any pictures either so I thought I'd better get a couple. Rust out at the base of the door pillar on the drivers side. Hammer formed patch panel. Passenger side, after patch install and some other tin work. Shock crossmember hump removed so the floor can be straight across.
