My Model A

I was going to try to build it for $2500 but
that changed
With paint it will be a bout $3500
Also I bought some parts from Speedway that brought it up some
I bought rim adapters for the wide five rims so I can keep the S10 rearend
That was $100

That's a pretty crafty tool you made hbc. You mean all you've done lately is dig nine ponds and build a road? Don't be a slacker :D. It's good to see an update from ya.

:cool:Worked on the firewall to day
MODEL A 8-07 017 (Medium).jpg
Started by bending back the lip that the old lower firewall bolted to

Then I made this piece the bends are 1/2 X 4 X 1 1/2
MODEL A 8-07 019 (Medium).jpg
Then I laid it in place

Next I bent up the back

I wield the corners and done some spot wields on the back and use some pop rivets to hold it together

looks like a real good build so far. Some real good work. I really like the sheetmetal brake. I think I'm gonna build one of those tomorrow.. Thanks for the idea.

looking great hillbillychopper its coming together for you keep on posting them pics .

I took your idea of building a bender and built one of my own. I had everything I needed lying around so I didn't have to put out anything.

I made it so I can bend 4" sheetmetal.

Any more progress on the car?

Got some work done today

I cut the back of the cab apart to make it 55 inches wide
When I first built it I was not married and did not have a kid so it was only
45 inches
My first seat was the second bench from A Ford Aerostar van
This one will be from the rear of the same van
It has three seatbelt

This is were the 10 inches are added
THANKSGIVNING 2007 034 (Medium).jpg
Had to notch the floor frame so it can be pulled out

And then the rear of the frame got a notch to help align it

The last two is the seat in the car
Now I will have to make a new rear for the cab:cool:

Wide Five

Yes they are better than Speedway because they have all three bolt patterns on one set
Speedway's set has only two bolt patterns on one set and one bolt pattern on there other set:eek:

you dont have a spare v8 you could throw in instead of a v6? even a straight six would rock...ive never cared for v6 in anything.. they just look anemic... that could be just me....nice build.

Looking good, that seat looks just about like the one I started with, it was out of an Explorer, I took some off the sides and a couple of inches off the back and reshaped the foam with the wifes electric carving knife. Sure is comfortable.

v8

Yes I have a few good v8
Flathead
small bock Chevy and Ford
IH
Olds
And a Buick
But I have seen them all in Model A Fords and I have seen A Buick V6 in one to But never with out a hood
I guess they like to hide them

What are you going to do for the rear body? When ever I stand out and have a smoke I look at the trunk lid of my 56 caddy and think,,,, Hmmmm???
