Heres a little teaser of the up and coming events. :D Took me a hammer and chizel, cuttin shears, and channel locks to get this the hillbilly way. Oh yeah, the car was in the back of a 5acre field with snow up to my knees. About 8degrees. Theres another rat rod story in the making.

Too bad you didn't have a D-9 cat, you could have wrapped a chain around that speedo and pulled it right out.
Good work. I really like the overhead, Mine is set up the same way, but a little more rough.
And the speedo will be great.

Personally, I prefer a nice heavy wrecking bar and a 5 lb. sledge hammer for precision work like that but whatever works I suppose? The important thing is you got it out without destroying it! I like your set up hillbilly! I noticed the cowl steering in there too. Cool!!!

'50 something chevy coupe. Im going back to pull a steering wheel off the Nash Ambassador thats there. Waitin for the weather to break.

I've made progress, but the batteries in my camera died while i was trying to get y'all some pics. I barely could get these. Heres my new steering wheel from a Nash Ambassador all mated up to my original 46 steering column then into my willys jeep steering box. also pic my new shifter knob from my bathroom door.

Better than nothing.

Cool Man !!! Dig the steering wheel. Dash is looking good too. Keep some fresh batteries for that camera !! Keep the pics coming.

Real nice transformation to that dash, do you have pictures of the overall project, I'm new here and just getting my feet wet, so what I'm saying is you do probably have it post somewhere on here just haven't seen it yet.

well guys, i had the whole dash prepped for paint. When i sprayed on my first couple of coats it was too cold in the shop, and the paint did nothing but run. So i went back and wet sanded it all out. Then shot it again, once again, nothing but runs. Wet sanded yet again. Sprayed it a third time and the paint lifted. How the hell does paint lift when its going onto itself??? Wet sanded again.

Then i got sick of all the sanding and decided to spray on the second color and go back to the first one later. Now come to find out the paints wont mesh, i sprayed acrylic ontop of laquer! So guess what comes now, thats right! MORE SANDING!!!!! this time down to primer.

Im so mad at this project right now that i am just going to break down and go to Advance and buy the $30 a quart dupli-color "paint shop" paint.

I know some of y'all are thinking "its a rat rod....." Normally i would agree, cept the dash is the one thing i want to be 110% perfect.

I promise to have finished pictures by the end of the week.
