home made canned pheasant hunting

i am thinking of getting some property here in nebraska
planting native grasses and such
then buying a bunch of pheasants and turning them loose
wah-lah!
billys game preserve!
i dont know anything about it but i will learn

farming has gotten so efficient in this part of nebraska
that pheasant is practically extinct (no habitat)
so i doubt if there is one breeding pair of foxes in 100 miles
but if i let 30 acres go back to brush/native grasses
maybe it would help?

Pheasant are pretty hardy birds & if given that much cover should flourish. Most people raise them from chicks then release! Do you have a place to raise chicks?

Released birds will need access to water to survive! You might also want to supplement food after release in the beginning.
