After many years of working on my wife to move shes finaly giving in. Next summer we will be moving to Arizona and I wanted to know how things are out there for older cars. Illinois can be a pain in the butt sometimes trying to get titles transfered. I had a 47 Chevy that had a title and all I needed to do was transfer it but they gave me a book of paperwork of hoops to jump through. I sold the car instead. I have an old Valiant now thats titled, registered, plated here so Im hoping itll just be a simple transfer.
How is Arizona?

Where in the state are you locating? Phoenix (Maricopa county) and Tucson (Pima county) have smog testing for '67 and newer. Other than that transferring your registration shouldn't be a problem. Nice folks and well organized DMV here.

Thanks for the reply. Half way ,or close to it, between Tucson and Phoenix is where want to be as we have relatives in both areas but it depends on where we can find jobs.

Here in IL I would consider the DMV not well organized and I think to work in one of the offices you have to fail a congeniality test.

Lot of motorheads in Tucson. Car clubs and things going on. Not so far to get to events. 10 degress cooler there winter and summer than Phoenix. Downside is many streets are narrow and the traffic is tough to take.
