How much of a span... ?

How much of a span can I have with 16 gauge without support underneath ? Putting a new floor in my Dodge just don't want to have popping or dimpling going on. My widest opening is approx. 14" . The plan is to drill holes thru the sheet and weld to the cross-members, then stitch weld the perimeter. After that I'll seam seal it.

Just a suggestion -
Fit your panels, then put them in a bead roller and roll a few beads in each panel and you'll have no buckle problems.

Try to get them bead rolled. 14" may or may not be be a problem. I think most fab shops could do it reasonably priced or find someone with a bead roller.

Yep, beads are very helpful in making them stiff. 16 ga is very heavy, but every little bit helps.
