June 14, 2008 Scroungers C.C. Dairy Bar Cruise.
Starting at 1:30 p.m. We will Meet at:
Steve & Amy's house
317 Lindsey St.
Newport, Ky 41071
There will be a grill set up with hot dogs. There will also be soda pop and chips. Nothing fancy or a huge cookout like we have, just something simple this time around. No one needs to bring anything, everything will be at the house when you come.
Parking: We will make the best of what we have. The 300 and 400 block of Lindsey Street. At the end of the 400 block is John and Lori's house where we met for the Rabbit Hash Cruise. There is enough room in their yard for about 10 cars if we run out of street parking. When we leave we will be going all the way down Lindsey St. so where ever you are parked you can just get in line as we leave. There are NOT a lot of red lights and stop sign like the Rabbit Hash Cruise so we should be able to keep in a group pretty easy.
At 2:30 sharp we will fire the hot rods up and take our Route to the Dairy Bar in Silver Grove, Ky. Joe will be the Road Captain for the day, driving his 10 second Nova or his SS Chevelle. This is not as long cruise. 25 minutes tops one way.
The Dairy Bar has every kind of ice cream, shakes and or malts you can think of. They also have food for the ones that didn't like hot dogs at the grillout.
This is again an open cruise. We are a traditional car club but the cruise is open to anyone with a love for cars and a good time. Drive whatever you have. Any make, model or year.
Ronnie's Garage is right up the street from the Dairy Bar so after we get our fill of ice cream we will stop by there.
Just remember you are running with a car club that prefers not to draw bad attention to themselves. No littering, racing or burning rubber around the house or Dairy Bar. If you want to lay a patch of rubber wait until we are out on the open road where people will not call the cops. We were pretty mild on the Rabbit Hash Cruise and still had the cops on us 2 different times.
Everyone is out for a good time and I like to see rubber fly as much as the next guy but wait until you are away from the city and please don't disrespect The Dairy Bar owner after they have welcomed us at their shack by leaving black marks in his parking lot...
