Its an Australian Holden 202 cubic inch engine, massive price including automatic trans, $240. Wont be no drag car but will push it along nicely.

Is the Holden engine similar to any US engines? Sort of looks like a Chevy (or maybe Ford) 6 to me in some respects.

Don

Developed here and used for a long time with a fairly lengthy evolution. The later model ones started producing good power before they were dropped due to emissions standards problems.

They can be built for good power, there is pretty good aftermarket support for them.

This isn't a bad read, but missing a bit of info for the later models - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holden_straight-six_motor

Would make a cool, oddball motor in the northern hemisphere :D

Runs under General Motors, Holden is Australasian to the core. Rife in Aussie and NZ and not many other places. A few made it to South Africa rebadged as Chevs.
Also scored twin carb Manifold with carbs( as circled in pic) off same dude for $150. The intake setup alone is worth what we paid for them and the motor box combined.....
