Hi I'm Sam from Kansas, and I joined the forums because I was searching for info and noticed a couple binder guys on here, I'm going about this kind of backward from what most people do because I already have everything but the body, I'm starting with a 1961 International Harvester Scout 80, It was originally slated to be a resto mod, but what we thought was a fairly decent body turned out to be so full of screw hole and bondo from the previous owner "fixing" body damage that when I ground all the bondo off I resembled a screen door. So the plan now is to put a 20's coupe body on this frame, and upgrade the 152 four cylinder to a 392 with a four speed. I'm thinking a fenderless rig with an international farmall grill shell up front. Thank you guys for the massive amount of invaluable information already on these forums and for any info you guys provide me personally in the future.

Welcome from Southeast MI...

No worries man....we've all been there and done that....you start grinding off the paint and BAM!....very solid become well ventilated....yeah, post some pics as most of us here are visual learners...lol....:D

I'll get pics up soon but yeah what appeared to be a very solid truck in the barn where it had sat for 20 years, started cracking after about a week sitting in my drive in the sun. The bondo was so thick in places that when I was chisling it off it was still pink on the bottom and still smelled like bondo after 20 years.

Welcome to the group. I first learned to drive on a binder....I think it was a 63 with a 304 and a four speed. I loved that truck....I was probably only about 12 at the time, and dad let me drive it back and forth to the field.

Welcome to the RRR. I feel you pain, when i striped my sprint i found about 5 gallons of bondo on a body i thought was not so bad. [S
