I have finally found the right ride here, after several months of looking and scouring around... I have found a '29 Ford Model A for a fair price...and have even found a transporter to get it back to me here in Wisconsin. I won't be able to get it here until next month, but it will give me a chance to get more parts lined up for the build [cl . I will create a build thread when I get it and the progress of the rod.

I have added a couple of pics of the car...

@Sam....

There is only 2 little rot spots on the whole car...on the lower cowl, about an inch long(basically going to clean it and weld it all closed and smooth it up). I found it out in North Dakota. I know I can't believe it either at how solid it is.

@RatRodney...

There are plenty of plans to come on this one...plan on making my own frame here...then going to channel the body 4 inches...then the fun part with the body of a roughly 4 1/2 inch chop in the front and a 3 1/2 chop in the rear section(and yes I am going to be filling the top in to make it solid). But those are rough chop numbers right now...going to start out by taking little amounts out until I get the stance that I am looking for.

I am trying to get my hands on a '70 thunderbird here just for the drive line [ddd....because it has the good 'ole 428 CJ motor...

More pics of my find....

I made my first payment here the other day, and asked the guy for some additional pics of the car....Tell ya one thing this is going to be a very fun build for me(since this is my first rod project)....

Not to discourage you but I'd drive an A that's been chopped AND channelled before I'd take a hacksaw to it... they look plenty cool but are not made for anyone over 5'5"... and that's still a tight fit.

A 4" chop? OK But you add in a channel job and it's a whole different ballgame.

Nice car BTW.... and we DO like projects at Rumblefest!!!

Thanks guys...I can't wait 'til I get it here and start the project...I won't chop the top until I channel it here, so I can get the right height to sit in it comfortably since I am 6'3". It is going to be a challenge here to get everything right so I do look like sardine in a can..LOL:D

When I ran a swap meet during the 90's I had a guy bring his chopped/channelled '40 Chevy p/u to sell at the event.

I immediately fell in love with it... until I tried to sit in it. I'm 5'11" and there's no way I could drive the car. Then I looked at an "A" 5 window... same deal.

You can make up some by sitting on the floor on some hand made seats...

I'm sure you'll get it right.
