I have never seen money so tight, even people that still have jobs aren't spending money. I build, buy and sell a lot of cars and I've never had so many trade offers on cars and parts I'm selling but no cash offers. Are you guys seeing the same thing in your buying and selling?

I also buy and sell cars and parts, more parts lately for the same reason, too many trade offers. And the parts that I try to sell are moveing slower and I am haveing to take less than what the market was just a year ago.
I don't any improvement in the future in fact I think it will only get worse because we have allowed the government to get out of control. Barrow and spend is an insane policy. At the turn of the century we were in debt 4 trillion dollars, only 9 years later we are 14 trillion dolars in debt and beacuse of the policy of developing a global economy the entire world is in debt. No one can dig their way out of a hole not even the government. Some people are under the impression that all the government has to do is print more money, that is dead wrong. They barrow against the gross national product and that is based on a project of what business will produce and as we can see our country no longer produces much of anything but food and any farmer will tell you our government gives our food away.
Until the American people wake up and revolt and replace our elected officals that love socialism and elect representatives that have some common sence and put a stop to the dictatorial powers judges have assumed we will continue a downward economical trend that is certain to destroy this country. End of rant!!

I think your dead on Fuzz, it's getting crazier every day. It may be that on a "Main Street" level we go back to a barter system, I know here on "Dirt Road" it already has.

My business is graphics for race cars mainly and some commercial vehicles and it is really in the tank, nobody is spending unless they have to and then they wait till the last minute. I fully agree with the above 'rant'.
Barter is OK by me, I do it sometimes but I still need cash to pay the bills.

If you can't figure out what the future has in store, ya gotta prepare for the worst. Business and Wallstreet are in the same place - they're afraid to spend and invest because the future is so uncertain. Cap-n-trade, healthcare, new regulations on wallstreet, etc. etc. All that legislation the government is currently trying and to pass makes business wary of possible new costs. Uncertain future, plan for the worst, no spending, no hiring.

I'm not saying those potential programs are good or bad, just saying the uncertainty of it all is mucking up the movement of money.

I've had my Jeep on the market for a little while now, and not even a trade offer. Asking price is less then I owe on it, and still nothing. I do know this is the wrong time of year to try to sell it, but still figured someone would try to lowball at some point...
