alright so i plan on pulling an engine next weekend to put in my lincoln, all of these need to be rebuilt and are in the same shape for $188.

And please comment on some of these with an opinion on any of the engines if you have one.

I think I like one of the 460 s. Still lots of manifolds, valve covers, ignition stuff alum heads and should be able to mate it up to an o/d trans. ..., and if you're into horsepower it's easy with the 429/460's

Just happen to think, 1973 was one of the first years for pollution engines. If you are re using the heads, I would go with the 1988, hardened valve seats and all of that other good stuff for unleaded gas.

well my friends with trucks have all backed out so im gonna have to wait another week to pull the engine, i've decided the oder of the engine for my choice
1- 460 4 valve
2- 460 FI
3- Caddy 500
4- 390 FE

I'm gonna go down the list if one was pulled or had parts scavenged then i'll go the next one

NOT 4 valve........

4V is not for 4 valve, it is for 4 venturi, as in 4 barrel carb, each venturi is a barrel, ie single barrel carb = single venturi carb, some times in the old days they said 4BBL, other times 4V, hope that helps you out buddy.
