Built this about 4 years ago, my first atempt at building a hot rod from the ground. It was cut into a truck in wwII by a farmer to get more gas ration tickets is what I was told. Anyway here's some pics.

I had to reseal the gas because of a small leak so I repainted it and made some new leather belts out of steel to hold her in place, the gas cap is one of the original hub caps.

Nice Truck.

I have heard my Mom talk about ration tickets during WWII.My late Father was in Navy aboard Cruiser in Pacific,so he did not have to worry about that.
I am sure that was why it was turned into truck.
Sure is one of the best looking trucks I have seen.[dr

Thanks guys, I appreiate all the comments. When I drug it home I thought the neigbors where going to call the county on me for the junk in front of my shop and when the wife came home, well the look on her face was not good but when I said something about selling it about 2 years ago she got mad and started to cry, she really loves riding in it. I found some pics of what I started and some of the build.

Wayback, hope you dont object, but I too have seen this baby up close, and it is well done. Here are a few different views from a couple years ago. Notice the old gas tank and original leather straps.

Yeah, I thought the 1" straps were out of scale so I made some 2".
