Well, if you're going to sled it, you'll need to change out the front suspension. Those Twin I-beams don't lower well. I do think the long beds look best low.

i plan to change out and lower the front end as well as put disc brakes on the front but that all cost money.
any suggestions what to do with the front end? i heard somewhere thats there is a mustang 2 conversion kit but i dont know i have never seen one.

just my kind of trucks right there on lowering the front end if you dont want to go super low then you can cut the coils a little and you could swap the spindles from a 73-79 ford two wheel drive (im pretty sure they all have disc brake spindles) you can also swap the streeing box and collom from the same truck to have power streeing:) i have done the streeing swap but not disc swap yet

heres a picture of my 2 69 fords

you have some good looking truck.

as for power steering is had it when i got it

Love these ol' Ford pickups, looks like you're off to a good start. If you have a 427 in there, it's worth more than the truck itself - very rare, though they never came in T-Birds. Those FE engines all look very similar 332, 352, 360, 390, 406, 427, 428. The sure way to tell if it is a 427 is to look at the sides of the engine block just above the oil pan rails - if there are three bolts on each side, you've got a 427 or even more rare, a 406 - both have cross bolted main caps like a Hemi.

Sweet truck!!

Years ago I built a 72 short bed from the ground up. It had been a former race truck & stripped to nothing when I got it. I bought a parts truck and scoured junkyards for parts to build it. I went with an earlier bed with no side markers, earlier model grill, and smoothed all the trim holes and front side markers. It had a 390/C6 from a 68 Mercury and a 3.70 geared rear. Boy that thing would move on down the road. Sadly, I had to part with it to fund a 390/4 speed 64 Galaxie I wanted. To this day it's one of the only vehicles I wish I had kept.
