Hey guys I have been a long time lurker and decided to finally get started on my truck. Basically I’m starting with a empty cab and building the rest. This is going be a long build due to me working seven days a week and having very little free time. I have been collecting parts for a while now and here what I have so far.
1948 f1 cab
1941 I beam axle and bones
1993 5.0 roller rebuilt by me
Four speed straight gear
31 spline 8.8 track lock rear end
Corvair steering box, column and wheel
I’m gona put a speedway disk brake kit on the front
It will also be riding on air all the way around
So far I have cut three inches out of the bottom of the cab to clear up the rust and started welding in the new floor frame in preparation to build the frame.
The frame is gona be 2x3 and the I beam is going to be riding on bags via a cantilever system.
I came across a wrecked BMW 325 and I’m seriously considering using the independent rear axle being it is a cradle system and it looks like it would work well with bags.
What’s the conscience on this?[S
Sorry for the long post, I know you guys love details, I will post some pictures soon.
