Hey all, just wanted to stop n say hello. Just joined looking to get inspiration and info for my upcoming 55 chevy pickup project. I've been in and around the automotive industry my entire life. I grew up in bodyshops and truck shops owned and run by my grandfathers and father. I'm currently an autobody estimator and do event photography on the side for various european car websites. I'm looking for some good shows to attend in the northeast Pa, NJ, DelMar area to get ideas, shoot some snaps n meet some genuine rat ppl to shoot the bull with. Trucks currently sitting in the field waiting to be pulled out and started this fall. Any help, criticism, points in the right direction are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Matt

Hi Matt, welcome to the RRR.
If you have any pics of the 55 please post them you'll be asked so, might as well get em goin :D [P

hey guys thanks for the warm welcome!!! Anyone know of any good shows coming up in my neck of the woods? And here's a pic of the truck as it sits now, donor Impala next to it (327HO coming out and getting NOS 202 fuelie heads then going in truck [ddev )

yea that's the way she's gonna be pretty much, drivetrain n suspension is my big thing, gotta pull her out n see what the frame looks like. the 327 is pretty much the easiest and coolest option in my opinion. i wanna do air for the suspension but gotta map that out. the body is fairly decent w/ a great patina. my father in law is picking up a '49 ford but he wants to put it on a '97 ford chassis and drivetrain. so i think he's taking the shop over to do that first, lol.

Welcome to RRR! The Impala looks rat-able too....

yea the imp's got some foliage adorning the interior...but could be pretty evil, been thinking about parting ways with it tho to fund the 55 build. we're diggin into the '49 ford project hopefully next week. that might get it's own build thread too...[cl

Thanks for the pics, that's a great lookin 55 and the others are pretty awesome too [cl
Waitin for the build to begin[P

Thanks!! Gonna start my father in laws project first. i thought it was a 49 ford F1, but its a 1950 going on a 96 F150 Chassis. Need a point in the right direction for wiring up the 50 dash to the 96 harness and drivetrain. Can anyone help or point in the right direction? The 50 hasnt arrived yet so i have some time to map things out. He's a retired welder and is chopping and sectioning the frame once i get measurements for him and we get the truck. i'm doing all the bodywork (doors are half rotted off and a tree fell on the roof and hood which need to be fixed to be driveable)
