Tried once to get this but failed. So I sold my Dodge gasser project, so I went down to a friends today and ended up with a 40 chev coupe. Really nice solid old car. It'll be alot of work, but it'll be worth it. It's paid for, but I got to get it home next Sat, soon as I make room. When I get a start on it, I'll post pics.

Got the garage cleaned out and made a place for the 40, picking it up Sat!

Love me some 40 coupes.[cl :D
Picture of me and my 1940 Chevrolet coupe circa 1975.
327 with a Muncie 4 speed and a 1957 Chevy rear end.
I'm the one in the overalls.

The year I graduated as well. By the early 80's you couldn't give away that Muncie in my neck of the woods as all the "Street" rodders were going to the turbo 350's. LOL

Torchie that thing was rockin...as for the 327 4spd....absolutely....[cl

Thanks Sarge. Been kind of looking to find another but the prices on these have gone $$$$$$.
Now they would call it "Old School" but back then we just called it "Hot Rodding." Didn't we Sarge. :D

Yes sir!!!

There was not much better than to say you was were runnin a 327 4spd...Everybody knew exactly what you had....

Everything is like that now. Ratrods came about with people building and working with what they had. I seen a 40 chev coupe on ebay that was a really rough piece, $3400 with GREAT rat rod project at the top. T10 trans, $850, and it goes on and on. You've really got to be creative to build something now and finish it before you go bankrupt.
