This started out to be a father son build when I was 15 for my first car. But as we all know things like this take time and money. Well I ran out of money and time before I wanted to go places and do my own thing. Now my dad has picked up building rat rods which has made me want to start fixing my 1950 panel truck up. This Panel truck was given to my dad in 1988 (year i was born) which he gave to me. I bought a 1978 K5 Blazer, which me and my dad cut the body off of it and just used the chassis and 350 engine. We had to lengthen the frame 8 inches to make the chassis look right with the panel truck. Also had to put 8 inch blocks to make everything fit just right.the truck has set in a shed for 7 years. After many years (Now I am 22 years old), I have finally gotten enough money and time to start working on it again. A few days ago I bought 15x12 wheels and got it running again. I think we are going to call this one Outlaw Medic. I work as a Full time fireman, which is my life and have always wanted to do. My dad has made two rat rods so far which he has given them the names Outlaw fire department and Outlaw Sheriff and with me having the panel truck we thought it would be a good idea to make Outlaw Medic. We are planning on painting the panel truck like an old army ambulance. Like I said before my dad has been making rat rods (http://ratrodsrule.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15838 <--dads page) and someone said that he needed to give the panel truck some recognition.... i figured i would so here it is....Tell me what you"ll think Pictures are 7 years old. Have not taken any recent pictures but will document process.
