Rat Frame Photos

So with all the builds here and all the specific threads fvor pictures, I think we need to start a Frame Photo thread.

Lets see all that fancy frame work youve done to your rat before the body was reinstalled. better yet...... how bout frame pics before body, then another after body so we can see the stance.

Im getting ready to crank my frame out on my binder project and ive seen some pretty cool framework out there but i know alot of you guys have some pretty good ideas.

Very basic....but its my first one, and t-buckets don't need much. Thats my excuse, and i'm sticking too it.

I'm thinking that she needs a drop axle on the front for a little more rake. I'd like the whole car a little bit lower, as it stands now, its fairly flat, with the front end just a little lower than the rear.

What do you think? My wife wants to keep it as is...but i'm starting to find things i want to change, and its annoying her. She likes it as is...but i'm talking engine upgrade, or carb upgrade, changing the stance a little bit, slicking off the body, chopping the windshield, re-doing the interior, putting shiny paint on it, ect, ect, ect.

She just wants me to make it so my damned deck lid stays closed after hitting a bump. I think her priorities are messed up.

Im gettin ready to start on my frame for my 50 bagged binder and wanted to see some peoples ideas. Ill end up z'ing the rear quite a bit to get it low enough. Luckaly, the cab is already factory channled about 4 inches so that helps alot.


Quick question for everyone, i notice most guys z the frame on a diagional. Is there any specific reason for that? I want to do the rear Z at 90* angle up then 90* back (similar to "Zacho's '38 GMC bobber truck frame" in the post above) so i can have nice vertical points to mount the triangulated 4 link.
Is it better to go at an angle up?

The front will have a rather large Z as well and that one will follow the firewall angle up.

Can you tell me more on that second frame thats laying on the ground? It doesnt look like there is much frame supporting the rear of that one. Bagged? Any more photos of it?

Yes it's bagged. Here's a couple with the frame finished, the bags were mounted to the lower bars so the weight was borne ahead of the rearend, still there was a substantial frame in the rear, shown at ride hieght here.
