That truck in the background looks late 40's, and the coupe maybe 38, 39, this pic looks to be late 40's early 50's. Real piece of history there!!!![cl

Rat rods aren't traditional, but the car in that pic is...a traditional salt flats roadster...

...in the late '40's, there was a California car club called, "Rodents", that were very active on the salt, that could be one of their cars...
 
You will notice that even with no headlights, bumpers or turn-signals...its got a license plate..so it must be a "street rod"...NO...its a rat rod...IMHO....
 
Use it as an alternative homepage background just to rub a little salt in the pork lol
