Short leaf springs? What can I rob these from?

Building a gasser and would like to know if there is a short leaf spring from any application that can be robbed from something for cheap. Speedway motors is kinda expensive so I am always looking for a cheaper route[

Parallel or transverse leafs ?

Utility trailers are one source for parallel springs.

TSC (tractor supply) hasa selection of trailer springs with varying lengths and rates.....
i thing i spent abut $30 on the one i bought to do a transverse on the front of my rat--i'm sure it would be safe with 2 in the front mounted to a gasser style parallel set-up...around 26-27" eye to eye (don't remember exactly[S)
