Was in the process of chopping top on 49 Ford truck, when cut top lose found a piece of half in plywood stuck in right side winsheild post. If any one has found this before let me know. If was install from bottom, would have been a job. Back to chopping top, is it better to cut relief cuts and lean posts or cut top in four sections. Have attached pictures of wood in post.

Neat find...... wonder what it's purpose was? Find any signs of prior body work there? maybe they pounded it up to try and push out a dent??

As for your chop, I went the route of slanting the posts, it didn't go to bad. I did that because I was afraid of keeping the roof straight if I quartered it....

If you cut mine now you will find a piece of rebar inside. Wonder if someone had those opened up before?

So. Ga. Rat rodder

In the windshield post area there was no body work that I could find. It had about three inches up in the roof side of the post and it was not that tight. It might could be put up from bottom on you head, but still puzzling. at this time and looking at builds, I think I"m going to lean the post on this chop. If anyone has better idear please advise.
