I like the Jackal! I live 25 minutes from the fairgrounds and I feel your pain on the cookie cutter street rods. I go to look at the swap meet and buy tools or stuff for my build that I want to see in person before I buy. I'm thinking about borrowing my neighbors '80 Ford Fairmont four door, it now qualifies as a hot rod and if I entered it in the show I could drive all over the fairgrounds instead of walk in the 100 degree heat. The trams are always full so you end up waiting a lot to ride them to get across the fairgrounds. They don't have benches for people to sit down anywhere and any shade you find is the portable type brought in by somebody. If you want to see cars you can't lurk in the air conditioned exhibit hall forever. Dammit, just making this windy post I've almost talked myself out of going.

Not to mention your 80s ford fairmont 4 door will be hated there more than our sedan lol.. They through a huge fit over them raising the age limit of a car and i have no clue why the show would have did that anyway not that i care one way or another but i thought that there were too many cars to look at before they allowed even more in.. The swap meet is always a joke..I walked up to a set of white wall tires last year used ones at that and asked how much? The guy said 400 bucks i went to walk off and he said "Your not goin to find them any cheaper than that!" I said Coker was inside and sell me new ones for 120 a piece i buy a set every month for these rods i build thats 480 for new COKERS vs your used ones here?? I will gladly pay the extra 80 bucks.. Anyway everything is over priced in that swap meet by double i found for the most part.. But hey they are selling to street rodders with ididit columns and chrome suspensions they can afford to pay double..

I know I live in a very different world but can someone explain to me the reason for all the holes in the frame and suspension parts too???...When I was a kid in the 1970's they would cut holes in the hood of the roundy round racecars for cooling purposes (I think thats what it was for). Just wondering out loud again thats all.

Its the same thing as in the 70's, It cools the frame and suspension parts... or makes the whole ride COOL! lol
