Tilt Front End...

Any tips on making a tilt front end...my only problem is my hood bolts to the firewall and not to the fenders. (1949 chevy car) a buddy told me to just tilt the fenders and let the hood raise normally...to me that seems like it would be ugly as hell..lol...any tips would be appreciated.

Why can't you bolt the hood to the fenders and front core support somehow, mabe some sort of brackets. How will the fenders clear the cowl? Will you have to cut the bottoms off and fix them to the cowl? That is the part of a tilt that usually needs more forethought.
