hey everyone.

i was watching chasing classics one day and seen a underslung frame from the 30's on a british type race car. i thought it was neat and could solve some ppl quest on a way to set it up without taking up to much room.

i did a little paint action to show what it looked like. the springs are in the traditional fashion and take away the question if it will ride or work ok. the axle was held down with u bolts like normal, but a wedge filler piece was installed to take up the different angles.

just thought i would like to share and thought it would be helpful.

it will handle funny

draw a line through the rear spring hanger through the front

This is the axis your suspension is going to move on
figgured in with the front suspension this creates your roll center

look at where the line goes into the ground
what you have has most of the vehicle weight pivoting in front of and above that line

it wont change the way your vehicle is weight balanced but will effect the way it is dynamically balanced

i had a booklet on suspension I got from one of the suspension companies called "handling and how to get it" or something like that which described geometry perfectly
