VIN / serial # ??

Anyone know where a serial number would be found on a 1936 Dodge truck ?
Also, is there any place to buy replacement blanks ? I know there are legal issues with this but I have seen some restorations where the owner replaced a worn one.
Just curious, my title says Farm Truck will I have any issues with this ?

Look on the frame rail on the pass. side over the front axle on top. May have to use a wire wheel to clean it off to read. RUSTY

Not sure about the trucks but, a 37 Dodge sedan I had a while back had the vin on the B-pillar.
