Where is there a VIN number located on a 48-51 F-series?

I have a 48 Ford F-6 heavy duty truck that I want to get titled. A cop has to come out and take a look at it to get the VIN numbers off it before I can send in the paper work. Anyone know if there is a number hiding out on the frame?

Should be on the passenger side of the firewall or on the glove box door.

Well I found the one on the frame. It was on the passenger side, nice and legible too shouldn't have an issue with the cop reading it

I found mine on the pass side of the frame as well. On top right over the front axle. Had to take a wire brust to it to find it. RUSTY

I have a 49 F4 body sittin in my yard and the VIN plate is in the glove box.
