So Ive been cleaning up my engine compartment wiring...after undoing a few bundles of wires to replace weak links in the "loom" .Im now left with a few STICKY wires Id like to clean them an rewrap with elec. tape...heres the problem.... What to clean them up with?? I have a few types of solvents in the garage and Id like to use somthing I allready have rather then buy sum new stuff.... I dont wanna harm the wires or leave a residue that could affect the newlly applied tape........

solvent

carb clean or brake clean should do watch paint w carb clean

did my carbs and tripower intake and stripped some paint on ends of heads from carb clean:eek:

I would go with brake clean. If you're afraid of hurting any finishes in the surrounding area, then you could spray it on a rag and ipe the wires.
