I think I might have found an old 79 XL 500. I wonder what that engine would be like for a street bike? It would have a lighting coil, or not?
This one has carb issues and they can't get parts from the Honda store so it sits.

Very easy to build up into a cool rat metric.
As far as parts are concerned, if it is in the carb, that can be fixed by incorporating a newer carb. And for the rest of the unit, most electrical stuff can be found on newer bikes and converted over. Nothing like learning how to become a HARD CORE biker type person and doing the work yourself, especially if you need to build your own parts.:rolleyes::p

hey, i had a street bike with a xl 500 in it, it was a honda ascot 500, great bike when i was younger, good for wheelies, once and a while i see them for sale around 1000.00 bucks, if you found one of those ascots, would be a great start to modify it to your own way...p-rat
