I hopped in the roadster and went to Ellsworth, Wisconson, about 45 miles, to a car and tractor show. There is a swap meet too. When I parked here's what I saw right across from me. Could it be Tired Iron's Buick???

There were at least 500 cars and 35 tractors at the show. It is a judged show if you want. If you don't want to be judged, you get the car and driver in for free.[cl All shows should be that way.
A band was playing, a bit too twangy for my taste, but nice anyway. Good food, lots of sun and several friends wandering around makes for a good day.

Packard Hawk it is![cl I don't know the year. Bet Gastrick does. With that front end it looks like it should be eating krill in the ocean.
Nice going More On The Throttle. HRP, it's the big brother to the Studie Hawks so you were close.

1958.....and I think the front facia on those were fiberglass.

Yup, 1958 Packard Hawk. Same as the 57 Stude Golden Hawk with a fiberglass front end. Came with a McCulloch supercharged Stude 289 V8. Yes, Stude 289!

Remember the Studebaker Avanti was fiberglass also.

well, i didn't even know there was a packard hawk, but in my defence i would have realized it wasn't the studebaker if i'd seen that front-end pic....a bit different from the stude.....


....i know a guy that used to have a stude-golden hawk & said it was the fastest car he ever drove.......

The only way I knew the difference was that "Studebaker" emblem was on the fender as opposed to the "Packard" in the wing.
