My first car was supposed to be a 61 falcon ragtop. When I was 10 I won a bet with the neighbor kid and his dad said I could have the falcon sitting g in his back field. My mom wouldn't let me bring g it home till it ran though. My friends dad buried it in a 4 wheeler jump before I got it running. Sad story. My actual first car was a 69 chevy c10 that I bought from a neighbor after it was wrecked for $325. Dad and I drug it home behind a riding lawnmower. I was 16 by that time. Four years later the truck still sits in the driveway. Still working out the bugs but it's sure fun to drive!

Don't feel bad about the hillman Mack, The first one I owned was a 78 datsun 210 hatch back. The first one I drove on the street legally was my dad's 72 F100 short bed fleetside 302 3 on the tree.

Bought a 57 Chevy 2dr post when I was in the 11th grade with
my own money I worked hard for....250.00 it had a 283 3spd
mystery shifter , pull in the gas station and fill the oil and check
the gas....it was bad......but it was mine and I had a blast with it.

Owned a 64 Bridgestone mc first, then a 59 Rambler (one that looked like an upside down bath tub) Reversed shackles and screw in spacers in front springs. Sold it for $200 and bought a 57 Ford 2dr custom for $80, 292 3 spd. Those were the good old days when you could buy a runner for $50 to $100.

84 Chevy Caprice was given to me when I was 16, but if we only count what I bought then my first was a 59 Ford pickup.

1950 Studebaker Champion. My dad was looking for a car and found it and bought it in 1969 for $50. He drive it for a couple months until he found a newer car and just parked it. When I turned 16 I got it running again and drove it for it to high school. I still have it.

I inherited my father's '64 GMC. Dad swapped the I6 for a 283 but the "tree speed" remained. (Speed-shifting a column shift hain't easy, but I did my best and tortured it properly.) [ddd

The truck is long gone and I wish I'd kept it, though I still have the 283. :D

.

I inherited a '50 Ford more door from Dad when he realized it was knocking and second gear was going. Then in 1962 I bought a '47 Ford truck which was way cooller. With the help of my little brother and cousin we took the body off the '50 sedan and made a hot rod and put a '49 motor in it. Eventually, I turned 16 and got a license so I had to make the '47 truck legal to drive too. Here's the '47 and the hot rod.

I found my first car pictures and its jacked up because I changed oil in it a week after I got it and it burnt a rod bearing so I had it up replacing that bearing .. It had Quaker state in it (need I say more ? ) Oh yea the rat snake was on the inner fender well when I opened the hood to check my oil ....

My first truck was a 64 C10 SWB. We restored it when I was 15. I drove it through high school. It had a 11:1 327 with 462 heads, performer intake and 650dp. Fun truck and ran great. Left it with my dad when I joined the Army. My brother dropped a valve in the 327 and my dad put in a nice 406. Raced it for a few years and its been sitting for the last 13 years or so. I just recently dropped a 305 back in it to get it moving again while im building a 402 BBC for it. I hope to start another restoration on it this year.

In its glory days.. Late 80s early 90s wild paint job..

How its been sitting now.

Thinking about painting back the same that it was when we first restored it. But putting some of these rims on it since ive converted it to 5 hole.

First car was a hand me down '78 Mercedes SEL, I drove that for little under a year until it got too expensive to fix. Then I got an '81 Jeep CJ5 for $350, I bought it sight unseen on my buddy's word that it ran (his boss wanted it out of the garage. Once I got my hands on it I found out it had a clifford built straight six, the thing would pull a wheelie if you dumped the clutch in granny low. After pulling up the carpet and discovering that the CJ was completely rusted out I sold it for $350 to another friend as a donor for his CJ project. Got a '78 Wagoneer for $250 from a guy that had gotten it for the front doors and didn't want the rest. My dad had a couple spare doors around from his Wagoneer project so I threw those on and had a great car. A little over a year ago third gear went out in the Wagoneer and I bought a pair of Mercedes 300D's. Still messing around with those, and a '65 Power Wagon I got from a co worker. And just a couple months ago I bought a 2001 Nissan Xterra to have something newish and reliable. So by my count I've owned 7 cars and I'm only 22. I must be doing something right! Or really wrong
