Almost done!
Sabastian doing his thing!
We have also got the lights, front brakes, shocks, guages and speedometer hooked up. Its more fun driving it than it was building!

Interior
2" of foam, some 3/4" plywood, staples, glue and a Mexican blanket make a pretty nice interior.
I also managed to get a title on it in my name, now to insure it and register it. A little more brake work and some wiring and we'll be ready for Beatersville.

Not too many,
Lube the leaf springs so they don't squeak.
Find another rim for the drivers side front it's bent.
Hook up front brakes (rear brakes won't be enough at speed).
Work on carb.
Our too do list is still quite large though. Lol

Making smoke!
We have made lots of progress in the last couple of weeks. The body is bolted down, the rear brake lines are done, the master cylinder is mounted and working and now it drives.

Getting floored
The kids have been working on the floor pans and tunnel.
They did pretty good up until the last piece when another kid (who isnt on this project) decided to show them how they should do it. Notice where he beat the crap out of it with an hammer and welded it.
It was easy...
We rebuilt the front brakes, replaced the wheel bearings and upgraded all the steering linkage.
Painted the wheels, put on some bias plys and added some hubcaps out of Tonys collecton.

My best friend has well over 150k on car tires on the back of his GL1800's. I was quite skeptical at first but some of the places I have followed him have made be believe that other than a little different "feel" the car tire is superior on heavy touring rigs. Before the switch he had two...
It was dimple died from the factory, one of the guys in my car club, Tony, finds the best pieces. He's also the one that found the body years ago.

Making a little progress
Got a radiator off of eBay, cut down the grill shell and added a commercial baking pan to come up with this.
We finished up the tubing on the back half of the body; they did such a good job good I couldn't cover it up so we used expanded metal.
We're going...
