    Bonehead is back to work

Well, I'm checkin' it out... Hey, Jeff! Guess I've been away too long. You told me to check out the thread. Man! It took me about 3 hrs to catch up to you at this point. Phew! It's nothing less than I'd expect from ya'. I think I need to get out to your place soon and check it out...give ya'...

You want HOW MUCH for it ???

For the record, I'm thinkin' about makin' up a T-Shirt for when I go to rod run swap meets that says: "I don't care how much it goes for on ebay!"[ddev[cl:eek::rolleyes::D Hey, I'm just sayin'...;)

    Lacquer

It's been a long time... I haven't used lacquer since sometime in the early 70's or so. Usually, lacquer "sealer" was the stuff you sprayed over an existing enamel. Usually, you could spray a sealer, spray your lacquer, sand out the imperfections, runs, etc., then spray another coat and...

    Pin stripping and clear

Factories do it... Factories do it all the time. Check out just about any car with "pinstriping". Some are on top of the clear and I've seen some under the clear. Not sure if I'd try it on something with lots of twists and curves like your flames, though... I've done it on some repairs...

Do you need an etching primer?

Summit has etching primer... Wait a minute, did you say they sell LACQUER, as in nitrocellulose paint?[dr Just where is this place? Has anyone called the EPA yet? Wait, don't call 'til I get mine...[ddd But as far as your question, YES, use an etching primer on bare metal. You'll be sorry...

    T-5 Adapter issues to Flathead...

Time will tell... Okey Doke, I called Speedway and talked to one of the techs and it appears that ShortyForty is correct. Apparently, the "easiest way" to do this is to use the adapter (as linked in the quote above) on the later bell housing. Use a stock flattie pressure plate and T/O...

    Them Damn Pulleys...I'm SO confused...

Yeah, I think you're right, RTDeville. I thought (right thar's the problem...) that there would be a quick and easy answer... I should know better by now, right? Thanks...

    T-5 Adapter issues to Flathead...

Hey, ShortyForty, I didn't read (um, pay attention to) that it works "vice versa" the first time when I was goin' through the Speedway catalog. Guess I'll call 'em and talk to one of the tech guys and see what comes of it. I'll keep y'all posted. There WILL be more questions to come... Thanks!

    T-5 Adapter issues to Flathead...

Yeah, I know, I should know all the answers by now, but...:o Anyway, yes, I've checked out all the links both on here and Flat Ernie's stuff over on the HAMB. And, no, I can't find what I need (or my eyes just glazed over and I skipped over what I needed to know). Though I understand a lot...

    Them Damn Pulleys...I'm SO confused...

Pulley Pix OK, Rev, and anyone else... Here's a couple of pix of all the pulleys I've got... I'd like to get it all straightened out before I drop the rest of it together, paint it, and then...find out it doesn't work or align correctly. Thanks, Chris

    Flathead ford 8ba

Bro', look for this... Hey, Bud, many of the "normal" Auto parts stores don't even carry 6V batteries (at least over here in the U.S.). If you check your local "Ace Hardware", or other type of store which will carry the 6V battery you need for a "tractor" or other type vehicle, you should...

    Flathead ford 8ba

Frankly... Racer 135, As I put down in the first response, that's usually the best way, but.... You can also check one of the gauges on your dash...Let's say the temp gauge, or whatever. See if the + goes to ...- or + ground...? That'll also help. If your car hasn't been messed with for...

    Flathead ford 8ba

In MY experience... To make is easy, if your battery cables are still intact, I've found that if you take your battery cables and see which one fits where-e.g. your cable leading to you starter fits easier on the negative cable, then you have a positive ground system. Obviously, this isn't...

    Them Damn Pulleys...I'm SO confused...

God Bless ya', Rev Hey, Rev, thanks a bunch! I'll see what I can mock up next week on my days off. I'm sure that even though I can perhaps get all the pulleys the same size, I might have a whole different set of problems as far as alignment goes. But, I guess we'll see, huh? I'll...
